AN ACTIVE PEDAGOGY BASED ON NEUROSCIENCE !

At École des Lumières, our teaching approach is based on advancements in neuroscience, offering an education that places the student at the center of their learning journey. This scientific approach allows us to better understand brain processes and create environments that foster children’s autonomy, curiosity, and active engagement.

Each student becomes an active participant in their learning by exploring, experimenting, and building knowledge at their own pace. Our method adapts to individual learning profiles, enabling everyone to fully develop their potential.

We also view families as essential partners in this process. Their involvement strengthens our educational mission and contributes to the overall success of the students.

Through this combination of innovative pedagogy and collaborative commitment, École des Lumières empowers children to learn, grow, and thrive while embracing their individuality.

MULTILEVEL CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION

Grouping children of different ages in the same class is a pedagogical commitment at École des Lumières. Each child has their own learning pace, which is often independent of their biological age. For this reason, traditional single-grade classrooms do not exist, and it requires teachers to constantly adapt to the diverse needs of their students.

The multi-age classroom functions like a miniature society where students can progress according to their individual learning speeds and learn from one another. The benefits for students are significant, as this environment naturally promotes peer tutoring, the development of social skills, and greater collaboration.

Students learn to help each other, become more independent, and organize their work effectively. As a result, they are better prepared for the next stage of their education.

SMALL CLASS SIZES

To offer an individualized pedagogy that adapts to each student's learning profile, it is essential for teachers to establish a close relationship with every child.

At l'École des Lumières, we maintain small class sizes, with a maximum of 10 to 15 students in each class.

Small class sizes enable teachers to engage in individualized interactions and create a nurturing environment that supports each student's learning pace. These conditions also facilitate relationships among students, contributing to strong class cohesion.

To meet the needs of students, the classroom organization is based on a flexible approach that adjusts to the various daily activities.
